Company History

CIAL and Dun & Bradstreet represent the ideal fusion between the agile innovation of a startup and the stability of an established company, generating unprecedented and transformative digital solutions with a combined 200 years of expertise.

Businessman Lewis Tappan stabilishes a reliable network of consistent and trusted credit information in the United States, starting a mercantile agency focused solely on providing objective business information to American merchants.
A competitor of Tappan's business is born in Ohio. The John M. Bradstreet company popularized the use of credit ratings, publicating the first commercial ratings book. Meanwhile, R. G. Dun took over Tappan's former commercial information agency.
Amidst the economic depression, the rival companies merge to form Dun & Bradstreet. Arthur Whiteside, CEO of Dun, orchestrates the merger, emphasizing 'service' over 'product'. D&B survived the Depression, entering the Information Age
Dun & Bradstreet introduces the Data Universal Numbering System (D-U-N-S Number) to numerically identify companies for data processing purposes. This system becomes a standard business identifier worldwide.
Doron Cohen acquired Dun & Bradstreet in Israel, including both the Commercial and Consumer Credit Bureau, quickly becoming the market leader in business credibility solutions.
In October 2016, the Cohen family established CIAL Dun & Bradstreet after acquiring the rights to use and data from D&B, thus embarking on a journey of excellence and innovation throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
CIAL360 was launched, an innovative business decisioning workflow platform, which today supports thousands of successful data-driven relationships between suppliers and customers in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Dun & Bradstreet launches its Initial Public Offering (IPO) to accelerate the company's growth strategy.
Inspired by the success of the company's data, platforms and solutions, and to start the year in a strong note, CIAL goes through a rennovation, improving our branding, redesigning our logo, products, website and overall visual identity.
